Activity of GHS: Ice Cream Social, August 17, 2022

FANTASTIC!

The Gilboa Historical Society hosted a wonderful blast! An occasional sprinkle of rain got our audience to generally stay within the confines of the Dorothy Cox Juried Pavilion, and people delighted being together, socializing, and fully appreciating our spacious outdoor venue.

The draw was the expectation of a wonderful performance by The FisherCats. After a number of challenges in 2020 and the uncertainty of 2021, the rejuvenated band was not simply wonderful, but rather was PHENOMENAL! Their classic rock performance was up to their high standard, and their expanded vocal range and close harmonies just simply raised the bar for this great combo.

The audience came out to see the FisherCats, and left with pure satisfaction. Stewart’s ice cream was served throughout the performance, a few seniors were dancing with their grandkids in the parking lot while others were dancing in the pavilion, people were listening from our exterior porches, and often people would swap chairs to socialize better with others. The audience was around 100 that came with 60± cars.

It’s somewhat of a puzzle, though, who enjoyed the evening more: the audience definitely adopted the FisherCats, but it also was obvious that the FisherCats simply loved this tri-county audience.

Wow!
